You know that feeling when you heard a track in the club and you wake up the other morning, having still the melody, the bassline and the synths in the head. Yesterday I went to a gig in Stuttgart where Santé & Re.You played for their Avotre Label Night and they played this wonderful tune, the crowd went so mad and I thought, WOW thats some crazy ass hot shit! Immediately I ask the two brothers which tune this is. It was Larse Remix of Candi Staton´s “Hallelujah anyway”.
Larse is a DJ and Producer from Germany, based in Dortmund. In the early nineties he discovered his love for music. He and a friend of him mainly produced Hip-Hop stuff and he started collecting Vinlys but gradually after some time he got more and more into the electronic music scene. “The More I want” and his to date biggest record “So long” brought him international recognition.
But this Remix, which was released on the legendary Defected, is from another level. Of course and without any discussion the vocals are more than amazing and Larse uses them perfectly as the strongest sector in his Remix.
No less than Pete Tong made this track his Essential New Tune in his weekly Radio Show on BBC Radio 1. So you might hear it on the dance floors around the globe.
“Hallelujah anyway” is out since the 27th of August on Beatport. Check out the preview below and than grab your copy, because this is definitely one of the highlights of the summer.
